A Love Letter To RescueTime: Time Management Software

Dear RescueTime.com:

We absolutely adore you. We, obviously, want to tell your story. We hope that you hire us to do that.

We will help you persuade thousands more earnest people to slip you on their Macs and PCs. We believe that you can improve on the landing page you’ve made with one of our demo videos.

We believe that you have much more up your sleeve than your first products. We would like a long and happy marriage as your messenger for all of your creations.

That which gets measured, improves.”  — Peter F. Drucker

We love the fact that you don’t just exist to make a buck (though we surely hope that that is happening).  You measure things and help people improve. That is noble. You share an intimate, sacred trust with some of the best coders, writers, thinkers, and doers. We want to get more people to meet you.

It’s selfish, but we believe that you could improve the whole country. New government programs—or tax cuts—won’t fix our mess. Productivity will. You make people more productive. We believe that if more people used RescueTime, everything—everywhere—would get better.  You are so terribly vital to the world that it would be horrible to not see you grow.

We’d like to see you dazzling people with one of our videos. Look at our work. Can’t get that at the mall (or on commodity sites like oDesk).

We believe that, soon, you will have many partners you to use what you make in novel and wonderful ways. You’ve helped us already. We’d like to help you. So we’re asking for your business . . . and offering you a price that nobody else will get this year.

We’ve been planning Love Letters for a while now, because we wanted a way to get in touch with you. We’re sending it to you in public. Forgive us for putting you on the spot. I know, some of the other applications may get a little jealous, and they may someday get one of our love letters, if they are nominated.

We’re booked as solidly as we can be, but we’re telling you: we like you, a lot.

So—of course—we’ll make room for you in our calendar so that we can go on our date soon. When we get it in our head that we’re the right one to tell a story (and we are), there’s no dissuading us of that notion. We would be doing you a serious disservice if we let you go home with one of those other guys at the bar.

So, if you are Jason Grimes or Brian Fioca at RescueTime my cell is 614-312-1941.

Truly Yours (and we mean it),

Simplifilm.

About Simplifilm Love Letters

Currently, our Love Letters program is the only type of “discount” we offer at Simplifilm.

You can nominate any company for a love letter. When we can, Simplifilm goes through our nominations and may pick one lucky company to get one. The Simplifilm Love Letter comes with a $5,000 discount—and sometimes more—off of the price of a video, priority scheduling, and epic promotions. It’s only available for 30 days after the love letter goes live. We’ll have two or three love letters out at a time.

Generally, the company getting one has been nominated by a close business associate or past customer as a favor. At the conclusion of our projects, customers are invited to nominate someone, and if we select them, we give them a full-blown crafted demo video at the lowest rates possible.

  • We won't do another group buying service, or something that already exists: they are about execution, not communication.
  • Hint: We don't need exposure. We're doing this for THEM not us...;-).
  • Notes or anything else you think would be helpful...for us to know?

We got the nicest love letter from Simplifilm – those guys are the best! It’s been a long time since someone has really impressed me in terms of winning RescueTime’s business. Chris and his team at Simplifilm took the time to understand our products and how best to evangelize what we do. We look forward to this project and our future partnership!

    Sincerely,
    Jason
